SURGEONS' TESTIMONIALS

I am excited about the opportunity to plan and execute ligament surgery. It is truly the key to personalizing this procedure. I feel that this type of technology will be the biggest advancement in ligament surgery since the introduction of the arthroscope. I would like to expand the use of osteotomies to prevent progression of osteoarthritis (a disease modifying intervention); Kyniska Robotics would be an enabling technology for this by affording me the precision and confidence to offer this to patients.

Kyniska Robotics has an opportunity to change the way future generations of sports medicine surgeons design and execute knee ligament reconstruction. Precise, efficient, and reproducible technique may lead to improved patient outcomes and reduced surgical morbidity.

Seth SHERMAN

Improving surgical techniques in ligament reconstruction rests on the ability to reduce surgeon variability, increase accuracy of graft placement and optimization of knee kinematics. I believe robotic technologies such as those developed by Kyniska Robotics will provide the key step in achieving these goals, which in turn will hopefully mean better outcomes for our patients. The ability to leverage robotic technologies into the world of osteotomy will introduce a new level of precision and safety, reducing surgeon variability, which in turn should improve patient outcomes. Kyniska Robotics is extremely well positioned to be at the forefront of this technique evolution.

I am passionate about Kyniska Robotics because one of the biggest challenges in surgical outcomes today is variability. We need to enable average and below-average surgeons to achieve results comparable to those of the best surgeons, and this technology can help make that possible. In soft-tissue knee surgery, poor surgical execution often leads to failure. In fact, the most common reason for ACL reconstruction failure is still poor graft placement.

I am excited to be involved in the development of the Kyniska Robotics project because robot assistance in Orthopedics, specifically osteotomy and sports medicine is undoubtably the future and we can shape it together.

Kyniska Robotics has leveraged robotic technology to reimagine how tibial osteotomies can be performed in a safer, more accurate fashion to assist surgeons who treat patients with a variety of articular cartilage problems of the knee.

We need to get average and below average surgeons to be able to produce as good results as the best surgeons and this technology can do it. Those of us who did high tibial osteotomies with great conviction spent a lot of time getting our technique just right. The ability for using navigation is getting a complex 3D relationship correct for alignment will leaving the knee ligaments as pristine as possible.  This was the technique of Dr Werner Mueller. Like many complex operations, using a robotic takes the ‘art’ out of the equation allowing for average surgeons to match the best outcomes.
